Case Study
Challenge
Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes (DAGB) is one of the world’s largest infrastructure operators, managing the entire motorway network in Germany as a central traffic hub. The organization faced the massive task of digitizing over 120 km of documents within a tight four-year window to support ongoing infrastructure projects across the country.
The archives consist of over 80 years of documentation with high variations in paper quality and media types. The project required a high degree of precision regarding color fidelity, data sensitivity, and the preservation of documentation in order to successfully maintain and overhaul 13,000 km of critical traffic routes.
solution
XBP Global supported Die Autobahn GmbH with its XBP® 2 Global platform and an extensive service portfolio. The solution utilizes sophisticated, pretrained proprietary deep learning models that achieve human-grade document recognition efficiency. The technology stack deployed includes:
To ensure the highest level of legal and technical security, the process is TR Resiscan compliant, meeting the highest industry standard in Germany. This framework allowed for the transformation of 120 km of analog content—including paper documents, 33k microfiche, and 3k microfilm—into a fully digital format.
Benefits
Through its collaboration with XBP Global, Die Autobahn GmbH gained the ability to efficiently manage and extract value from vast volumes of complex infrastructure information.
