Effective governance balances the transformative power of AI with the necessity for security, compliance, and ethical integrity. In 2026, with global regulations like the EU AI Act in full force, treating governance as an afterthought is a significant business risk.

The Do’s ✅
- Verify and Fact-Check: Always treat AI-generated output as a first draft. Review all technical or financial data for accuracy before sharing it with clients or stakeholders.
- Maintain Human Oversight: Ensure that critical decisions—especially those impacting customer service or product quality—are finalized by a human expert.
- Prioritize Data Privacy: Only use approved, secure platforms like our internal enterprise tools to handle proprietary code or sensitive company data.
- Be Transparent: Clearly disclose when AI has been used to generate content or automate a service for a customer, fostering a culture of trust.
- Report Anomalies: If you notice bias, “hallucinations,” or security vulnerabilities in an AI tool, report it immediately to the communications or IT team.
The Don’ts ❌
- Don’t “Set and Forget”: Avoid letting AI agents run autonomously over extended sessions without periodic check-ins and performance reviews.
- Don’t Input Sensitive PII: Never feed Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of customers or colleagues into public, browser-based AI models.
- Don’t Over-Rely on Automation: Do not let AI override your professional judgment or bypass established quality control workflows.
- Don’t Use “Shadow AI”: Refrain from using unvetted, third-party AI applications for work tasks, as these may not meet our strict security and compliance standards.
- Don’t Ignore Bias: If an AI tool produces results that seem discriminatory or exclusionary, do not proceed with that output; flag it for review to ensure we uphold our “AI for All” commitment.
